Opening of Permanent Orienteering Course on Sunday 21 July 2019

The new permanent orienteering course at Lodmoor, Weymouth was opened by the Deputy Mayor of Weymouth, Cllr Colin Huckle, on Sunday July 21st.

Di Tilsley comments: "We had 70 participants, mainly in families or groups of friends. We also had several people who said they'd come back & do it on another day! Most heard about it via social media but we were lucky to have the media power of Dorset Council, Dorset Public Health, Weymouth Town Council, Friends of Lodmoor, Dorset Echo & Active Dorset to advertise it - thank you! The whole story of these POCs in Weymouth has really developed due to the financial & project planning support from various Council departments who "smoothed the way" in many aspects of the work to give the courses that professional look."
